THE RANGER OF ORBIS: SHADOWS OF THE RESISTANCE

We are not heroes in shining armor. We are the shadow that strikes and vanishes.

I. Ghosts of Zone 1

While the Sentinels defended stone temples, there were those who understood that locking oneself away was a death trap. The Rangers of Orbis are descendants of hunters and explorers who refused to hide underground when Varyn arrived. They learned the hard way that to survive on the corrupted surface, one must become part of the landscape.

They wear no steel plates that clank when walking, nor use bright magic that betrays their position. They wear cured leather from fallen beasts and cloaks woven with natural camouflage fibers. A Ranger can remain motionless for days in a treetop, slowing their own heart rate, waiting for the exact moment a Void General lowers his guard. They are the invisible eyes of the Resistance.

"A Golem can stop an army. A Ranger can eliminate the commander of that army before he gives the order to attack."

II. Survival Arsenal

A Ranger's bow is not a simple weapon; it is an extension of their arm. Crafted from flexible Zone 1 wood and reinforced with raptor sinew, these bows can shoot with lethal precision at hundreds of meters. But they don't just rely on arrows. They are masters of field alchemy, coating their tips with paralyzing poisons extracted from local flora or volatile crystal dust to pierce magical armor.

Beyond ranged combat, they master the art of traps. A seemingly safe path can turn into a nightmare of nets, pits, and tripwires for any enemy patrol daring to cross their woods. By the time the enemy realizes they are being hunted, it is already too late.

III. The Watch

In the Alliance structure, Rangers operate on the fringes. They do not sleep in the Bastion barracks; they sleep under the stars, patrolling perimeters and securing supply routes. They are the first to detect Varyn's troop movements and the last to retreat.

Tessa trusts them for the most delicate missions: infiltration, sabotage, and rescue. Though they seek no glory and do not appear in bard songs, everyone knows that without their watchful eyes, the Resistance would have fallen into an ambush long ago.
